John hails from Halifax, Nova Scotia where he attended Dalhousie University Medical School after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. He then completed his post-graduate medical education at the University of Toronto.
Since this time, he has been in private general practice. In addition to his general practice, John has developed an expertise in the care and treatment of people living with HIV. He also provides specialized care to Toronto’s transgendered community.
John is an accredited member of the American Academy of HIV Medicine and is a long-term supporter of The AIDS Committee of Toronto and The Toronto PWA Foundation.
Gary Rubin completed his undergraduate and medical training at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS. He completed post-graduate training at Dalhousie University, University of Toronto and Walter Reed Army Medical Centre in Washington, DC. He is currently Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and is on staff at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre where he is involved with HIV clinical trials and education of medical students and post graduate trainees. He is certified as an HIV specialist and member of the Credentialing Committee of the American Academy of HIV Medicine as well as the Scientific Committee of the European HIV and Hepatitis Meeting.
Born and raised in the GTA, Daniel Paluzzi left to pursue a Bachelor of Medical Science at Western University. He then completed his undergraduate medical training at Queen’s University before transferring to the University of Toronto for his post-graduate medical education in Family and Community Medicine.
Daniel has an invested interest in the care of persons living with HIV and the LGBTQ community. He is certified as an HIV Specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
Dr. L.Y. Louie Chan is a family physician specialized in HIV primary care. He obtained his MD degree from University of Toronto (U of T), and completed his family medicine residency training at McMaster University. Dr. Chan is an adjunct faculty member at the U of T Department of Family and Community Medicine. He is also a consultant physician at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), and he is a member of the Canadian Professional Association for Transgender Health (CPATH).
Dr. Gerson Mobo is a family physician who also provides HIV primary care. He did undergraduate medical training at McMaster University, obtaining his Doctor of Medicine degree in 2012. He did his postgraduate training in family medicine followed by a fellowship in HIV primary care through the Ontario HIV Treatment Network. He has also served as a volunteer and a board member at Asian Community AIDS Services for several years.
Jonathon Herriot is a family physician with expertise in caring for people living with HIV. He completed his medical degree at the University of Saskatchewan, before coming to the University of Toronto for his family medicine residency training.
After residency, he completed his fellowship in HIV primary care at St. Michael's Hospital. Jonathon is also a staff physician at Casey House hospital.
In addition to general practice and HIV primary care, Jonathon has expertise in HIV prevention including PrEP and PEP, Hepatitis C treatment, mental health care, and helping patients with their substance use.
Dr. Anthony Chen did his undergraduate study in both Immunology and Pharmacy at the University of Toronto, where he completed his medical school training in 2010. He completed his residency training in London, Ontario at the University of Western Ontario. He is a certificant of the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Upon graduating, Dr. Chen worked at various clinics and hospitals, before joining Church Wellesley Health Centre in 2013. His practice interests include HIV primary care, LGBT health, and dermatology. He holds the Diploma in Practical Dermatology from Cardiff University, UK. He performs diagnostic and therapeutic dermatological procedures, as well as injection of botulinum toxin (Botox) and dermal fillers for cosmetic facial rejuvenation.
Russell has become an integral member to the Church Wellesley Health team. His role as a Physician Assistant includes assessing patients, making diagnoses and/or prescribing appropriate medication under the delegation of CW Health physicians.
Russell began his medical training as an Emergency Medical Technician where he practiced in San Jose, California. He worked as a Personal Support Worker while completing his Bachelor degree in Psychology at Crandall University, in Moncton, N.B. He completed his training as a Physician Assistant at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Badial is from the UK and has worked as a GP in London for the past 8 years. He did his undergraduate training at the University of Nottingham, obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2006. He initially trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology before turning to Family Medicine. He also completed the prestigious Darzi Fellowship in healthcare management and was a deputy medical director at his previous organization.
